Description: Ian Nepomniachtchi is a Russian chess player. He got the title of Grandmaster in 2007, at the age of 17 years. Between 2008 and 2016, he won the Russian Super Final, European singles titles, the Tal Memorial and the Aeroflot Open. He was a member of the Russian gold medal-winning teams at the World Team Chess Championship, and the European Team Chess Championship. Nepomniachtchi is also a great player of fast chess and chess blitz. He won the Ordix Open in 2008, won two silver medals at the World Rapid Championships and a silver medal at the Blitz World Championships. In 2019 he won the FIDE Grand Prix 2019. He qualified for the Candidates Tournament 2020. |
